Some of the most essential karate training exercises are those exercises that focus on the driving leg.
A simple exercise would be to stand in the shizentai yoi position (feet shoulder width apart), with the knees bent, then step forward oizuki (stepping punch), with either leg.
As you start to step forward with the right leg, push off strongly, from the let leg. Drive that left leg back and into the floor.
Such a simple exercise, but one that can have a dramatic impact on your karate training.
